What's New

The web site officially launched on November 2, 2003 and last updated on January 8, 2007.  For those who submitted information for posting or emails - updates are usually performed within a few weeks.

Recently, the Foundation received its advance ruling letter from the IRS, exempting the organization from income taxes under Section 501(c)(3) and permitting the organization to receive tax-deductible donations.

In the meantime, we have the following goals for the short-term:

• Sending an broad-based electronic press release (DONE)
• Doubling the size of the list of potential caretakers and other professionals (DONE)
• Including contact information for at least one attorney from every state who is willing and able to provide conscientious pet owners with estate planning for their pets (ONGOING)
• Developing an online continuing education program for professionals
• Making the web site more usable and useful (and the Foundation is open to suggestions!) (ONGOING)
